WE KNOW: Ponant’s Le Lapérouse

Claire Winnel, Manager of The Cruise & Travel Authority in Terrigal, and her CLIA Cruise Accredited Senior Travel Consultant colleague, Patricia Saric, were recently invited to inspect Ponant’s renowned Le Lapérouse whilst berthed in Newcastle.

Le Lapérouse is the lead ship of the Ponant Explorers-class of cruise ships operated by Ponant.

“She is an incredible vessel with just 92 staterooms and suites, and an unmistakable sense of French chic and refinement with a relaxed vibe” said Claire.

Le Lapérouse’s spacious suites and staterooms feature large windows, and lounge areas that open onto the outside. Cabin categories include:

Claire and Patricia spent time aboard with the Ponant crew, assessing the ship’s facilities, and enjoying some suitably French champagne and nibbles to get a sense of the Ponant experience.

“The facilities on this ship are stunning. It was unlike any other ship I had seen before”, advised Patricia.

“The ship’s ‘Blue Eye’ underwater lounge is remarkable. Blue Eye is the world’s first underwater ship lounge, and it’s equipped with an innovative sound system that captures the acoustics of the sea up to five kilometres away”, added Patricia.

Le Lapérouse will soon set sail, spending the winter cruise season in Western Australia’s stunning Kimberley region.
