DELTA Raising the Bar

Welcome cocktails, hot towel service, bistro-style dining: Delta to debut wholly reinvented international Main Cabin experience.
This first-of-its-kind service will launch for Main Cabin customers on international flights in November.

Delta hopes its flyers will be impressed when the airline debuts its enhanced Main Cabin experience in November. The service starts with free ‘Welcome Aboard’ cocktails featuring Bellinis, a hot towel service, before moving into mix-and-match options for premium starters and larger mains.

There are good signs with increased customer satisfaction scores on the more than 700 flights the service has been tested on between Portland and Tokyo over the past year.

Here’s how the airline has mapped out its enhancements:

“This is about investing in every single customer who chooses Delta, no matter where they sit on the plane,” said Allison Ausband, Delta’s Senior Vice President — In-Flight Service.

“The thoughtful touches we’re investing in were designed by flight attendants with one goal in mind — delivering an exceptional experience that our customers will rave about and one that our team, the best in the business, is proud to deliver”, Ausband added.

In another soft-enhancement, the Purser role at Delta has been elevated to include pre-flight introductions in the gate house and personal greetings at the boarding door.

The airline also recently enhanced its amenity kits in all cabins.
